FAQ
What is the Bugzy + Slack integration?
Bugzy is a bug-reporting and release-management platform that integrates with Slack. When a bug is captured in Bugzy, the integration posts a Slack message to your designated channel containing the screenshot, video (when present), Bugzy issue number, title, description, priority, severity, reporter and creation timestamp — plus a link back to the full Bugzy issue, where engineering can scrub the session replay, open the synced DevTools and read the console + network logs.
How does Bugzy integrate with Slack?
Click "Connect" next to the Slack integration, then click "Workspace" to log in with your Slack account. For each Bugzy project, select the channel that should receive bug messages and click the link icon to complete the setup.
Is the Slack integration free?
The Slack integration is included with Bugzy's professional plan. There are no per-channel or per-message fees from Bugzy, and Slack itself does not charge for receiving messages from external apps.
Can I connect different Bugzy projects to different Slack workspaces?
Yes. The Slack integration is configured per Bugzy project — connect one Bugzy project to one Slack workspace and channel, and connect another Bugzy project to a different Slack workspace if needed. Each project routes independently.
Can I comment on or update the Bugzy issue from Slack?
No. The sync is one-way from Bugzy to Slack — the Slack message is a notification, not a two-way control surface. To update the bug, open it in Bugzy via the link in the Slack message.
If I sync an issue to Slack and later update it in Bugzy, does the Slack message update?
No. Each sync posts a one-time Slack message at the moment of capture. Updating the bug in Bugzy afterward doesn't update the existing Slack message. To send a new Slack notification, sync the issue again.
Can I auto-sync every reported issue, or sync them manually?
Both. Bugzy has two modes per project: auto-sync (every issue captured by the Bugzy widget — including from your public customers — posts to Slack automatically) and manual sync (review issues in Bugzy and post only the ones you want). Turn auto-sync off if you want to triage before posting; turn it on if you want everything in Slack automatically.
